HTML and CSS User experience enhancements Web page maintenance

What do you do?

As a Front-End Developer, I mainly focus on building and maintaining websites. In this, my experience with both HTML and CSS allows me to be versatile in my approach to work. I have a strong eye for detail that is particularly useful when assessing the user experience of a website. I notice the visual inconsistencies and design issues that can detract from the accessibility and functionality of a website and leave a bad impression on users.

The highlight of my work has been how much I get to learn and develop. I am exposed to a wide range of tools, processes and ways of working that really help to refresh and expand my existing knowledge. It’s exciting to feel like I’m developing new skills and gaining hands-on experience across different areas of the role.

Tell us a bit about yourself

My working life began when I started out as a bartender working in my local pub in Wolverhampton and then also in my local pub in Chester when I went to university. After finishing university, I then got a job as a Digital Marketing Executive at a nearby Tennis and Squash club where I was mainly responsible for looking after and managing their website alongside some of their social media. Following this, I then joined RoSPA as a Digital Designer, where, again, I was responsible for managing and updating their website. However, this also included creating and building webpages for them too, which kickstarted my Web/Front-End Developer career.

Working at Imagine That, though I joined when it was still called JE Consulting, has allowed that part of my career to flourish. I have grown considerably in my time here and am excited to embrace new opportunities as they come my way. Having a good work environment that lets me gain new skills and confidence is incredible and I enjoy helping our clients achieve success.

I think it’s very important to value all simple things in life and to not take anything for granted. Whether this be a nice run/walk or simply sitting at a pub in a beer garden with friends or family enjoying a nice pint. I find it’s very important to try and enjoy the moment that you are in and sometimes to not take life too seriously, as you can find yourself getting caught up in things which can cause a lot of unnecessary stress. Life is ther

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy athletics and running and have been a member of Wolverhampton & Bilston Athletics Club for nearly 15 years now. I love to push myself in training and regularly travel to compete in track events including 400m, 800m and 1500m, with my main specialist event being the 800m. I also compete in various other road and cross-country races throughout the year, including 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and, recently, the full marathon.
